Mentions wild life and weather conditions near Dakar, his flight to and from an LDS Servicemen's Conference, his comrades and pranks they played. Also discusses his duties at Oran (N. Africa) of receiving coded messages and his mistake which led to the invasion of Sicily being postponed. Discusses Christmas celebrations and interaction with the French-African people.
